On January 6-7, 2025, the Electrical & Electronics Productivity Nexus (EEPN) convened its first Governing Committee meeting of the year, hosted by XFAB Sarawak at their advanced facility in Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone, Kuching, Sarawak. Chaired by YBhg. Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, EEPN Champion and President of MSIA, the meeting outlined the strategic roadmap for 2025, aligning initiatives under EEPN's key pillars.
This meeting was attended by YBrs. Dr. Mazrina Ibramsah, Deputy Director General of MPC, and EEPN Pillar Leaders: Dato' Ts. Shanmuganathan, Dato' P'ng Soo Hong, Dr. Hari Narayanan, and En. Noorazidi, representing Mr. KC Lau. Representatives from MITI, MATRADE, SME Corp., IRDA, XFAB Sarawak, Cradle Fund, Infineon, AT&S, NCER, EEPN, SKO team and other key stakeholders also participated.
Key discussions included:
1. Strengthening the E&E Value Chain by fostering local SMEs through digitalization, innovation, and cross-sector collaborations.
2. Establishing Malaysia as a global IC Design Hub, with targeted initiatives to enhance the ecosystem.
3. Advancing Talent Development and Leadership through programs such as Academy in Industry and SME Leadership Development.
4. Promoting Sustainability & ESG, focusing on decarbonization pathways, renewable energy adoption, and circular economy frameworks.
This two-day event featured a EEPN networking dinner at the Waterfront Hotel, fostering connections among key stakeholders, and concluded with a factory tour of XFAB Sarawak, providing valuable insights into cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing processes.
