Industrial Training Institute (ILP) Kota Kinabalu is committed to continue its role as a quality training provider to increase the number of skilled workers in Sabah, in line with the government’s mission to achieve 35 per cent of the country’s skilled workforce by 2030.
Its director, Sudirman Hammade, said the latest initiative by the government — Academy in Industry (Ail) will be one of programmes that can be developed further, following the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Saleh Truck and Manufacturer on Wednesday.
“With the completion of the MoU signing ceremony today, ILP Kota Kinabalu symbolically launched the start of the Ail programme in Sabah.
“Through this first collaboration, our mission is to produce skilled workers among the employees of Saleh Truck and Manufacturer, the first company in Sabah to be trained under the the Ail programme.
“This programme not only marks a big step in the development of employee skills, but also reflects our shared commitment in advancing the country’s automotive and logistics industry.
“Through this collaboration, ILP Kota Kinabalu acts as a quality training provider, while Saleh Truck and Manufacturer provides a practical and relevant industry platform,” he said in his speech before the signing ceremony.
With this programme, ILP Kota Kinabalu intends to provide employees with the necessary knowledge and skills, produce a highly skilled workforce, competitive and ready to face the challenges in the industry, as well as supporting the company’s vision and mission in strengthening their position in the market, as well as improving industry standards as a whole.
“ILP Kota Kinabalu also intends to continue the strategic collaboration between the institute and the company, which is not only beneficial for both parties but also has a positive impact on the industry as a whole,” Sudirman added.
He also appreciated the committment shown by Malaysia Productivity Corporation and Department of Skills Development as the organisers of Ail programme in Malaysia.
Also present at the event was manager of Saleh Truck and Manufacturer, Fakhrullah Mohd Salleh, representing the company for the signing ceremony.
