Pioneering Change: 2nd Sustainability & ESG Conference 2024 Delivers Groundbreaking Insights

Penang, December 20, 2024 — The 2nd Sustainability & ESG Conference 2024, held on December 4-5 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang, brought together over 700 participants, including thought leaders, innovators, and changemakers, to advance sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.


Organized by the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC), the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA), and the Electrical & Electronics Productivity Nexus (EEPN), this year’s conference centered on the theme, “Circular Economy Towards Sustainable Development.”


The event emphasized the urgency of embedding sustainable practices into business strategies to address pressing global challenges like climate change, resource efficiency, and social equity.


The conference opened with welcoming remarks by Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, President of MSIA, and was officiated by YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State Executive Councillor.


In a keynote address, YBrs Dr. Mohamad Norjayadi Tamam, Deputy Director General of MPC, highlighted the critical role of leadership and productivity in fostering sustainable development, setting the stage for two days of insightful discussions and collaborations.


A key feature of the event was an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge technologies and solutions, including IoT energy monitoring devices and AI-powered ESG management tools, aimed at driving sustainability outcomes across industries.


As the conference concluded, YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, emphasizing Malaysia’s vision of a greener, more inclusive future.


The MPC, MSIA, and EEPN remain steadfast in driving Malaysia’s sustainability agenda through strategic partnerships, capacity-building initiatives, and knowledge sharing, further solidifying the nation’s leadership in sustainable development.
